Project Introduction
We created a custom spiral ribbon LED display for the central exhibition area of a creative science and technology museum in Spain. Descending from a circular ceiling feature, the display combines a sculptural form with flowing digital imagery to create a striking focal point. It uses P2.5 indoor flexible LED modules measuring 320 × 160 mm, with brightness of 600–800 cd/m² and a refresh rate of at least 3,840 Hz. A synchronous control system supports 4K video sources, allowing fluid animations, nebula effects, and particle visuals to flow along the spiral.
Achieving the continuous twisting shape required close coordination between the support structure and module layout. We used 3D modeling to define the curvature of each steel frame section, followed by factory pre-assembly and module bending tests. On site, the structure was installed in sections, and the modules were fitted from top to bottom with careful alignment at each stage. Cables were concealed within the rear framework, while distributed receiving cards and zoned power supplies supported consistent playback and brightness. Our technical engineers worked with the local installation team to coordinate assembly within the exhibition space.
To suit the unusual display geometry, we adapted the visual content through mapping and geometric correction, helping flowing patterns follow the ribbon’s curves naturally. The result brings LED technology and spatial sculpture together in a digital art installation that draws visitors’ attention through the hall. Designed for scientific visualizations, artistic animations, and themed exhibition content, this project demonstrates our ability to customize the structure, display configuration, and content presentation around a distinctive creative concept.
